To continue my pursuit of capturing the Milky Way over beautiful locations whilst the viewing conditions were perfect, I travelled to Lake Moogerah in the middle of a cold night.
Lake Moogerah seemed to be perfect as it had the water element and the mountains in the background reaching out to the stars. Though the official name is ‘Lake Moogerah’, it is in fact a dam.
Reaching the picnic point on the East side of this dam, the wind was very calm allowing me to capture the HD very long exposure of the Milky Way as seen here.
Waiting another couple of hours, I then was treated to this sight of the core of the Milky Way not too far from the horizon.
